For even in the words of his spokesman

Every politician needs some “time to clear his head.”

 

As the President of the Republican Governor’s Association,

Mark Sanford had funded more than half of McDonnell’s campaign.

With the race in Virginia topping the nation,

His own Clintonian blue dress to stain.

 

The Palmetto state leader was funnelling millions into McDonnell’s coffer display,

Posing as a family-values Republican.

Though his family didn’t even know where he was on Father’s Day,

Pretending to go hike the Appalachian.

 

Hopefully the McDonnell wife and children

Will have more luck.

As papa continues pushing the same “drill baby drill” mantra often

Rubbing elbows and indebting himself to such muckety-muck.
